An antique 20th century German very impressive solid silver model of a ship, called a "Nef" in the style of the 15th-16th Century examples, impressively large and very detailed. The three-masted galleon with pierced gallery and crew on board deck and in crows nests. The hull decorated in relief and the front applied with a cast grotesque bird and deck applied with cannons, the hull supported by four grotesque birds.
Hallmarked with Hanau pseudo marks, acid tested (800+ silver standard), maker unknown.
